There are two types of door entry chimes – traditional door chimes and modern door chimes. A traditional door entry chime is hard-wired while a modern door entry chime is a wireless and easy to install.

• Traditional Door Entry Chime

A traditional door entry chime is a wired chime where the door bell is connected to the main unit by electrical wires. You would need an electrician to install a traditional door entry chime.

• Modern Door Entry Chime

A modern door entry chime is wireless. A wireless door chime is easy to install and is battery operated. A wireless door entry chime would have a minimum of ten different chime tunes. The only disadvantage of a wireless door entry chime is the need to change the batteries once in a while. A wireless door entry chime uses the radio signal. The radio signals are transmitted to the wireless unit, which in turn trips the door chimes.

A Wireless Door Entry Chime Kit

You can purchase a wireless door entry chime kit from a “do-it-yourself” store or from any of the online shopping sites. A wireless door entry chime kit would include all the necessary components required to assemble and install a door entry chime. The door chime would also have an instruction manual pamphlet and a guarantee card. The guarantee card and the manual should be kept in a safe place for future reference.

Wireless door entry chime kits are available in various sizes, styles and colors to match the décor of your home. You can install a wireless door entry chime in remote areas such as garage, garden and so on. The volume of a wireless door entry chimes can be adjusted to the sound level of your choice. A wide variety of tunes are available on a wireless door entry chime. For instance, if you are strong believer of feng shui, there are tunes mimicking the gentle strains of a wind chime. A range of wireless door entry chimes allow you to record a few bars of your favorite song. These are known as musical door entry chimes. There is yet another range of wireless door entry chimes,where you could change tunes with the seasons. For instance, during the month of December you could have Christmas carols as the door entry chime tunes.
